Whether you already own a car or not there are still a number of additional tips to get a cheaper deal on your policy.
If you can stomach taking another course after passing your test then it may be worth you taking a pass plus test or similar. These additional driving qualifications demonstrate to insurance providers that althought you may be 17 you have an extra set of skills and you’re therefore less likely to be involved in an accident.
How often you use your car affects the premium and so if you are looking to save money be sure to work out your best estimate at your annual mileage. Although not ideal, you may find it cheaper to just use your car for social and pleasure outings and sticking to public transport for work.
Although 17 year olds are seen as high risk for insurance, you can prove the insurance provider wrong by having a black box installed on your car which allows you to demonstrate that you are safe driver. Being constantly monitored is not to everyone’s liking though and so if you want a quote without a black box, we can help with that too.
Ditch The Modifications
When looking at what car to buy stay away from anything with modifications on it, e.g. spoilers, lowered suspension, etc. etc. These all add additional risk and will therefore push up your insurance policy.
