FAQs about ICE’s currency service

  • Does ICE buy back currency? 

Yes. After your holiday, you can sell your unused money to ICE at the currency exchange rates that day. This is up to a maximum of £300. 

  • Does ICE offer a currency card? 

As part of the ICE travel money service, they also offer a pre-paid travel card as an alternative to using cash abroad. The card can be used for US dollars, Euros and sterling and can be accepted abroad in shops, restaurants and bars displaying the Mastercard symbol. Customers can also benefit from a generous 1.5% cashback on qualifying purchases over £50. 

  • How does ICE offer currency? 

ICE holiday money can be ordered online through their website and delivered to your home, or collected from your local branch or bureau de change at the airport. 

  • Is ICE FCA authorised? 

Yes, ICE is fully authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. 

  • Do ICE take credit card payments, and do they charge a fee? 

No, ICE do not accept credit card payments as part of their travel money service.  

  • Can you choose a delivery date with ICE? 

If you order your ICE travel money before 2pm, you’ll benefit from next day delivery. Order after this time and your currency will be delivered the following day.  

  • Does ICE allow you to amend/cancel an order? 

If you haven’t sent any money as part of your order, you can respond to your order acknowledgement with your request to cancel. If the money has already been transferred, there will be a £10 administration charge to cancel your order. 

  • Can you specify denominations with ICE? 

Although you’re unable to specify which denominations you would like as part of the ICE travel money service, you’ll receive a mix of larger and smaller denominations where available.  

  • Do I need to bring ID to collect from ICE? 

To collect travel money from ICE you’ll need a photographic ID – a passport, driving licence or EU identity card.
