John Lewis don’t currently advertise a buy-back service for unused currency. If you are looking to exchange money after your trip, you can do so using one of the many other bureau de change options on the high street. 

  • Does John Lewis offer a currency card? 

No, John Lewis does not currently offer a currency card as an alternative to cash. 

  • How does John Lewis offer currency? 

John Lewis travel money can be ordered online through their website and delivered to your home or collected from your local John Lewis Bureau de Change or Waitrose store. 

  • Is John Lewis FCA authorised? 

Yes, John Lewis is fully authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. 

  • Does John Lewis take credit card payments, and do they charge a fee? 

Yes, John Lewis accept credit card payments as part of their holiday money service, at a 1.5% fee for Mastercard and Visa. 

  • Can you choose a delivery date with John Lewis? 

Order your John Lewis travel money before 3pm and you’ll benefit from next day delivery via Royal Mail Special Delivery. You’ll need to be in to sign for your order. Order after this time and your currency will be delivered the following day. 

  • Does John Lewis allow you to amend/cancel an order? 

You can cancel your order at any time by calling John Lewis’s customer service team. You will be charged a cancellation fee of £20 and your order will be refunded within 28 days. 

  • Can you specify denominations with John Lewis? 

Although you’re unable to specify which denominations you would like for currency delivered to your home, you’ll receive a mix of larger and smaller denominations . For orders in store, you may be able to request denominations. 

  • Do I need to bring ID to collect from John Lewis? 

To collect John Lewis holiday money you’ll need a photographic ID – either a passport or driving licence, as well as your reference number and the card used to make the payment.
