Yes. Sainsburys offers a buy-back scheme for travel money if you find yourself with leftover notes or coins after your holiday. Simply take them to a Sainsbury’s travel money bureau to exchange. Rates change daily. 

  • Does Sainsburys offer a currency card? 

The Sainsburys multi-currency cash passport is a prepaid card that can be used abroad as an alternative to carrying cash. Top up the cash passport in store, online or over the phone. As Sainsbury’s designated travel money card, you’ll get a great rate on currencies and you can spend it in a range of both restaurants and outlets abroad. 

  • How does Sainsburys offer currency? 

Sainsbury’s holiday money can be ordered online and collected in store or delivered to your home address. You can also drop into any of the 230 Sainsbury’s stores across the UK to make a purchase. 

  • Is Sainsburys FCA authorised? 

Yes, Sainsbury’s is fully authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. 

  • Do Sainsburys take credit card payments, and do they charge a fee? 

Sainsbury’s accept credit card payments as part of their travel money service at a charge of 1.5%. 

  • Can you choose a delivery date with Sainsburys? 

If you order before 2pm, you’ll benefit from Next Day Delivery with Sainsbury’s. Book after 2pm and you’ll receive your travel money the following day. 

  • Does Sainsburys allow you to amend/cancel an order? 

You can cancel your order at any time by calling Sainsbury’s customer service. The amount will be refunded on to the card you used to order. You will be refunded the amount back to the card you used to order, less a £10 cancellation charge. 

  • Can you specify denominations with Sainsburys? 

Although you’re unable to specify which denominations you would like for your currency, you’ll receive a mix of larger and smaller denominations where available. For orders in store, you may be able to request denominations. 

  • Do I need to bring ID to collect from Sainsburys? 

To collect travel money from Sainsbury’s, you’ll need a suitable photographic ID and the card used for payment.
