  • Does Thomson buy back currency? 

Thomson advertises a buy-back service for unused currency. If you are looking to exchange money after your trip, go to your nearest Thomson store to exchange at the current rate. For those purchasing via a travel shop, there is the option of a buy-back guarantee. Speak to your local store for details.  

  • Does Thomson offer a currency card? 

Thomson offer a pre-paid currency card as an alternative to taking money abroad. Customers are able to load the card with up to 13 different currencies and it can be used in restaurants, bars and shops that feature the Mastercard symbol. The card also won an award for ‘Best Travel Companion’ in the Europe Pay before Awards in 2015. 

  • How does Thomson offer currency? 

Thomson holiday money can be ordered online through their website and delivered to your home or collected from your local store.  

  • Is Thomson FCA authorised? 

Yes, Thomson is fully authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. 

  • Do Thomson take credit card payments, and do they charge a fee? 

Yes, Thomson accept credit card payments as part of their holiday money service, at a charge. Thomson promote their own Tui Credit Card, a designated credit card that offers ‘fee free’ travel money with a maximum transaction value of £3,000.  

  • Can you choose a delivery date with Thomson? 

Order your Thomson travel money before 2pm and you’ll receive your order via next day delivery. Order after this time and your currency will be delivered the following day.  For click and collect orders, you’re able to arrange your order up to 7 days in advance. Please allow two working days for your foreign currency to be available.  

  • Does Thomson allow you to amend/cancel an order? 

Unfortunately you are unable to amend or cancel your order once it has been confirmed.  

  • Can you specify denominations with Thomson? 

Although you’re unable to choose the denominations received via home delivery, Thomson will provide a mixture of small and large denominations where available.  

  • Do I need to bring ID to collect from Thomson? 

To collect Thomson holiday money you’ll need a photographic ID in the form of a passport or driving licence matching the card holder’s details that you used to make the order.
