What are SIM Only contracts?

SIM only contracts come without a mobile phone as part of the contract and are mainly used by people with who are happy with their current phone, would like to buy a phone outright or by people who are looking for a SIM to use in a dongle or mobile WiFi setup.

Compare SIM Only Contract Deals

SIM only contracts are a lot cheaper than contracts that include a phone as you do not have to pay for the cost of a mobile phone on top of the call/data plan.

At Quote Goat, we compare sim only contracts from all network providers with the added benefit of offering exclusive deals and cashback for our users.

Things to consider when choosing a sim-only contract

There are a number of factors that you may want to consider when deciding which offer is right for you including:

Network Coverage: Make sure that your network provider has coverage in the areas where you will be using your phone/dongle the most. This information can be found on the network provider’s website.

Inclusive Minutes/Texts/Data: If you have a recent phone bill you can look to see your current phone usage. Knowing your usage will help you find a suitable contract at the right price.  Prices will generally go higher the more inclusive calls, texts and data you go for. On the flip side, you want to be confident that you are getting enough calls, text and data included in your contract to ensure that you do not go over the bundled amounts. Mobile data, for example, is cheap within your data allowance, but if you go over you that you could accrue substantial data charges.

Contract length: Decide what length of contract you are happy with. A shorter contract gives you more flexibility whereas a longer contract tends to reduce costs. You may also want to consider what you would do if your phone were to be broken/stolen/lost. Have you got insurance or another phone you could use with your sim-only contract?

Travelling abroad: SIM-only contracts come with varying offers on overseas use for both European travel and destinations further afield. Phone usage overseas can be seriously expensive without the right inclusive calls, texts and data in place.
