How it works

Three steps from browsing to a better phone bill.

1

Pick your phone or SIM

Choose a handset deal or switch to SIM-only and narrow it down by brand, memory and colour.

2

Compare the real cost

Check upfront cost, monthly price and any scheduled price rises so there are no surprises later.

3

Buy direct from the retailer

Hit “Buy Now” and complete your order securely with the network or retailer.

What to compare before you sign

Comparing phones, networks and deals before you commit is the best way to avoid overpaying.

The handset

The phone is usually the biggest part of the cost. Compare memory, camera, battery life and screen size, and consider refurbished to cut the price of a flagship.

Contract length

Most handset contracts run for 24 months. If the phone is lost or broken you still pay until the end, so it's worth thinking about phone insurance.

Mobile data

Check your past usage in your network's app and pick an allowance to match. Heavy streaming or using your phone as a hotspot may call for unlimited.

Roaming

If you travel a lot, check roaming charges and what calls, texts and data are included in Europe and further afield.

Network coverage

Check coverage where you live, work and spend time. If signal is weak indoors, look for a network and phone that support Wi-Fi calling.

Total cost and price rises

A low monthly price can hide a high upfront fee. Check the total over the contract and any price rises, which are now shown in pounds and pence.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about comparing mobile deals with Quotegoat.

Is it free to compare deals?

Yes. Comparing is completely free and you pay the same price as buying direct. We may earn a commission from the retailer when you buy.

What's the difference between a contract and SIM-only?

A handset contract bundles a new phone with your airtime and spreads the cost over the term. SIM-only gives you just the airtime, so it's usually much cheaper if you already have a phone you're happy with.

Can I keep my number?

Yes. Text “PAC” to 65075 from your current phone to get your switching code, then give it to your new provider. Your number usually moves within one working day.

Why do some deals show price increases?

Many networks build fixed annual price rises into their contracts. We show these on each deal so you can see exactly what you'll pay in future years.
